Indulge with a Dessert Only Date

After all week of diligently eating healthy and countless trips to the gym, I wanted a special treat for this week’s date night. Constantly going out for dinner can not only add up dollar-wise, it can also add up calorie-wise. This week we decided to still treat ourselves (and our wallets and waistlines) and go out on a dessert-only date!
We picked a fancier restaurant in town, got dressed up and after a simple meal at home, hit the town. We sat down at a cozy and private table, ordered two coffees and split a deep-fried cheesecake and a chocolate brownie sundae. It was incredible. Romantic, decedent, and oh so delicious! I couldn’t decide which dessert I liked more! After we devoured the desserts, we sipped our coffees and planned our ultimate fantasy vacation. It was so nice to escape reality for bit – no family obligations, no financial planning, no calorie-counting, we just talked and fantasized. It felt like we were on vacation.
The best part – by only ordering dessert, we were able to try a restaurant that would normally be out of our budget.
Pro Tips:
- If you’ve never tried deep-fried cheesecake, you have no idea what you’re missing. Book a dessert date immediately.
- If you are going to a nicer restaurant, arrive after the dinner rush. You will have more time to relax and enjoy your dessert without feeling the pressure of the crowd of people waiting to get a table.
- Indulge! Order something you’ve always wanted to try off the dessert menu.
If you were to go out for a dessert only date what would be your first choice of dessert?

From Adam:
Like many people, eating healthy is a constant battle for me so this date idea was a real winner. The dessert was awesome and I had been good all week so I felt I was deserving of something this delicious.
For the sake of moderation I wouldn't make this kind of thing a regular occurrence, but I'd definitely recommend it once in a while.
Even though we are married, I also couldn't help but think this would be a great idea for for a first or second date.
What a great idea!! Sounds like a very romantic and yummy evening out… I think that my hubby and I should book one (in like a month… after getting into my weightloss
Visiting from SITS, make it a great day!
I love meeting new people from SITS! Thanks for stopping by
I would definitely recommend this date. As Adam said,, we struggle to eat healthy so it’s so nice to splurge every now and than. Thanks!
What a great idea! I shoudl do this with my Moxies White Chocolate brownie. its so decadent!
Mmmm I love white chocolate! I haven’t tried Moxie’s brownie yet – I will have to put that on my list! Thanks!
I love that your hubbie chimes in!
Considering that Ashley is constantly coming up with weird new things for me to try, the least she can do is let me put in my 2 cents!
I LOVE dessert so I’m all for this idea. Heck, one time when we went to Chilis I just ordered the molten chocolate cake as my actual meal.
Haha AWESOME
Great idea! Going to try this!
I have never tried it but will definitely do so if given the chance! My husband and I have gone out for dessert only a few times and we always enjoy it!! Definitely worth it.
Chocolate, spending time with your husband…It’s definitely a win-win night all around
I love this idea, because when my boyfriend and I go out for dinner we hardly ever have dessert, and it’s a good way to visit one of the higher end restaurants we would never go to otherwise. And if there’s creme brulee on the menu, so much the better!
