Happy Hour – It’s a Date!

We talk about being Canadian quite bit on here, but it seems even more appropriate to mention it when the seasons are changing. In southern Ontario, May is the first month where we can reliably expect temperatures to go up and the sun to come out. It’s wonderful to shed some of those layers and get back outside. One of our favourite things to do on a hot day is find a sunny patio and make a happy hour date.

As you may know, a lot of bars and restaurants often have drink and appetizer specials during certain periods in the afternoon. Affectionately referred to as happy hour, this is the perfect time to bask in the sun and enjoy a refreshing drink.

The reason why I think happy hour is a great date idea is because it is so simple and yet it offers the perfect setting for a date. A sunny patio, some good food and drink, and relaxing with good company is the perfect way to unwind – even if its only for an hour or so. Ashley and I will often daydream or just people watch as a quick escape from reality.

You can also use happy hour as an excuse to try something new. Discounted dishes make it easier to be daring and you might just find a new favourite.

So the next time you have a few hours to spare and feel like a little sun, why not grab your partner for a happy hour date!
