Do you actually go on all of these dates?

Yes, we have personally participated in every date listed on this site. We’ve eaten the food, attempted the activities and lived to talk about it Ashley is responsible for most of the ideas and Adam is responsible for doing his best to just go along with things.

Who writes the articles and what are you trying to accomplish in each?

We usually share writing responsibilities. Each article is meant to convey our experience when we tried a new date idea. We hope that the articles describe why the idea is good (or bad) without focusing too much on the specific places we visit. We are not trying to rate different establishments because our goal is to show people that no matter where you live you can probably take part in similar activities. We want to appeal to a broad audience so the spa in Toronto is really of little consequence to someone in Ottawa.

How do the ratings work?

We decided to include ratings as a way to quickly quantify different aspects of the date. The ratings themselves are broken into three different types: cost, overall and general attributes.

Cost: Cost ratings are based on how much money is spent on a date (duh). The lower the rating the cheaper the date. While cost is important, it is not always the best way to determine the quality of the date. We’ve had a lot of fun for under $100 in an evening.

Overall: This rating is not an average of the attribute ratings but a general take on how much we enjoyed and would recommend the date we went on.

Attributes: We have chosen to break down our ratings into aspects that we feel are important to any given date. Each aspect is meant to help identify whether or not this date is something our readers might be interested in. Some dates are adventurous but ordinary while others are unique and romantic. We hope these qualities will give you an idea of what to expect from a similar date you may choose to go on.
